Answer 1: Yes there are many British people purchasing property in Turkey.After the amendment in the Constitution about purchasing property in Turkey for foreigners in February 2002 the number of British people buying in Turkey has tremendously increased. The main reason being that property prices in Turkey are more affordable than UK and also other EU Countries such as Spain,France,Italy,Germany and so on.Many British people enjoy the Turkish climate,friendly locals,wonderful culture and healthy lifestyle that Turkey has to offer.
Question 2: Who can buy property in Turkey?
Answer 2: Foreign nationals have been able to purchase property in Turkey since 2002/2003 Recent Law amendments also allows foreigners to buy in more locations,which were previously out of bounds.
Question 3: What is a Sale Contract and Title Deed? I heard about a Tapu,what is it?

Answer 4: Almost all the properties are Freehold in Turkey.

Answer 6: You can purchase more than one property in Turkey. Please view the Turkish Consulate website for detailed information as from time-to-time the laws change.
Question 7: Is purchasing property in Turkey a good investment?
Answer 7: Currently prices in Turkey(especially in Altinkum) are incredibly reasonable,so owning property is a fantastic investment opportunity.Prices are constantly rising,so purchasing now is a good idea! It is widely believed that Turkey will enter the EU within five years or so. Once that happens,property prices will definitely increase.
Question 8: Will I have to pay tax on my rental income?
Answer 8: There is a tax that has to be paid if a lot of money has been made through rentals. Guidebooks written in English are available from the local tax office in Altinkum.
Question 9: When I purchase a property in Turkey how offen do I have to visit?
Answer 9: Once you have purchased your property and the monies are received by the builder(s) you only need to visit Turkey once and that will be to collect your Title Deeds at the Tapu office. If you purchase your property through DMG Properties we regularly check with the Tapu office and once your Title Deeds are ready for collection we inform you accordingly.
Question 10: Are the medical services good in Turkey?
Answer 10: As with England there are two types of Medical Care: Private and Government. This is similar in Turkey,however,should you use the Governmnet Hospitals you will be required to pay for any medical care you receive and the fees vary according to the level of care needed. Should you be looking to permanently relocate to Turkey it would be wise to obtain Private Medical Insurance. In Altinkum we have English speaking local Doctors and in Bodrum/Izmir some very good private hospitals.
Question 11: What are the best time to come over and what is the weather like in winter?
Answer 11: The season begins in Altinkum April/May through to November,the hottest months being July/August. Altinkum is not just a fantastic holiday resort it is also home to mant ex-pats so whatever month you choose to visit us you will not struggle to find things to do. December,January and February are the coldest months.
