All About Akbuk
Akbuk is a small town approx 25 minutes drive or dolmus (bus ride) South of Altinkum. Set in a lovely sheltered bay overlooking the Bodrum peninsula, it is flanked by pine forested mountains. Quieter than Altinkum, Akbuk has a restful family atmosphere. The area has the lowest humidity in Turkey and the highest oxygen ratio.

The turquoise sea is shallow, clean and safe and the long beaches stretch around 6km and are edged by shady Eucalyptus trees coupled with a selection of restaurants, a few bars and discos.

The delicious local fresh fish is farmed just beyond the town or caught locally and can be bought from the harbour or sampled in many of the excellent restaurants.

There is a central harbour from which you can book a trip around the bay or a days fishing. A local market is open every Friday and a few stalls are set up everyday during the summer months to cater for tourists.

Locally you can find everything you need; doctors, dentists, minimarkets, supermarkets, banks, post office, chemists, water and gas suppliers and hardware shops.

Regular bus services run from the bus station to the local towns including Altinkum, Soke and Kusadasi.
